Welcome to another Caseing the Catty blog hop. This weeks inspiration comes from the 'Christmas' section on pages 26-37 of the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It is never too early to start on your Christmas projects especially seeing how we are already more than halfway through the year, Christmas will be upon us before we know it. I have taken my inspiration from pages 26 & 27 which showcases the 'Peace This Christmas' Stamp Set and 'This Christmas Specialty Designer' paper as shown below.
I decided to make a card box which holds 6 Christmas Cards, 6 Note Cards and 6 Tags. They all fit very neatly inside the box which will make a great present for my BFF. The instructions for the box can be found over at Crafty Caroline. I changed the size slightly to give a little more room for envelopes. The box is made from Basic Black cardstock and covered using sheets from the pack of 'This Christmas Specialty DSP'. I have used 3 main colours for the base of the cards, 3 x 3 notecards, and the tags being Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black cardstock. I have added quite a few different elements and layers to the top of the box, I have also attached a magnet underneath the DSP so the box opens and closes with ease. There was a lot of fussy cutting to this project, and using markers to ink the stamp. My method was to stamp a heap of the flower and leaf stamp and then sit and fussy cut them while watching TV of a night, I find it very relaxing. My friends think I am mad!
Here is a close up of the top of the box which shows all the layers. I have torn the DSP and then sponged the edges with Smoky Slate Ink. I certainly couldn't make a Christmas project without adding some sparkle so I have used some Gold Glimmer paper and Sequins!
